Citrulline is an amino acid present in the body and contained in certain foods. Due to its key role in the synthesis of the amino acid arginine and its effects on blood flow.
The organic compound citrulline is an amino acid fundamental to proper functioning of the urea cycle and liver detoxification. The highest concentration of citrulline is in the liver. Citrulline is produced in the mitochondria (anorganelle in the cytoplasm of cells that functions in energy production.) of cells and transported to the cytoplasm to then be converted to arginine. The body utilizes arginine for ammonia removal, wound healing, immune system assistance, hormone release and cell division. Arginine is also needed to create nitric oxide. which has been found to be a critical component in cell communication and vasodilation.
Suggested Use: 1 level teaspoon 3 times daily.
